Tamil Sangam is the oldest organisation in the world compromising of scholars of Tamil language, which was involved in literary growth of Tamil Language. Tamil Sangam dates back to 200 BC.
Tamil Sangam focusses on Tamil literary work, Tamil drama and Tamil Music. Traditionally, they have been awarding poet title to learned Tamil Scholars.
The fourth Tamil Sangam is headed by the titular King of Ramnad, an erstwhile princely state in India. Attorney Mariappa Murali is the Secretary of Tamil Sangam.
An associate of Tamil Sangam – Tamil Arts and Music College is affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University and have been awarding degrees as per University Grant Commission norms of the Government of India.
The convocation to be held under the head of the titular Queen of Ramnad, Her Excellency Lakshmi Kumaran Sethupathy.
Principal Renuka, College Committee head Attorney Dasharatharam, Vice-principal Subbhulakshmi are to preside over the convocation function.
The Guest of Honour for the convocation is the Vice Chancellor of Tamil University Prof Thiruvalluvan.
